Easy Compositing in 3ds Max Section 2: Configure the camera and aspect ratio.
Step 1: Identify the Aspect Ratio.
Under Render select Render Setup. In Output Size enter the size of the original image into the width and height. For this example the original image was 3150 x 1374. Max will then calculate the image ratio. For this example the image ratio is 2.29. Go ahead and click on the lock next to the aspect ratio.
Step 2: Adjust the resolution to match the aspect ratio of the image. Click the lock and then adjust to desired output resolution.
Now the aspect ration has been configured. Note: This resolution was used for the sake of this tutorial. Normally for video production it is recommended that you use industry standards like 1920 x 1080 for HD video. Continue to Section 3.
