Using the RPC Creation Script to Shortent the Process
The following instructions for using the script created by Tony Lopez, require that all steps prior to baking the texture (steps 1-4) be performed before running this tool. This script performs configuration and cleanup steps necessary for the creation of an RPC. It should be peformed in lieu of steps 5 and 6 shown in the Using 3ds Max to Prep Data for 3D+ RPC Creation tutorial. The purpose of this is to eliminate number of clicks necessary to create the .obj file needed for RPC creation.
Part 1: Installing the Script
Download the script here: Content Creation Script
Drag the ArchVisionToolsInstaller.mzp file directly into a 3ds Max viewport.
Select Install RPC Creation Tool.
An ArchVision Menu will then be added to the main menu.
Part 2: Running the Script
Select the attached model being converted to an RPC and then Click–>ArchVision–>RPC Creator to run the creator.
The script will move the object to the origin (0,0,0) and rotate it to face North. It will also:
from the Render to Texture process.
