RPC RGB Level Script Tutorial Introduction
The RBG Level Script will allow you to quickly modify the RGB level of an RPC material. This will allow users to compensate for the “blown out” effect caused by radiosity and overly intense lighting, as well as brighten RPCs that are too dark. For guidelines on configuring lighting please see the Lighting Tutorial.
Loading the RGB Level Script
To load the RGB Level Script
- 1.) Select the Utilities Panel.
- 2.) Select MaxScript.
- 3.) Choose Run Script.
- 4.) Browse for RPC_RGB_LEVEL.ms and select Open.
- 5.) Set RPC RGB Level can then be selected from the Utilities list. (see image to the right)
Set RPC RGB Level Roll Out
To change the RGB level select an RPC or choose Select All RPCs then type in the new RGB Level value and commit the change by selecting Set RGB Level.
RPCs that appear “blown out” can be darkened by entering a lower value. RPCs that are too dark can be brightened by increasing the RGB level. The changes will be revealed the next time that the RPCs are rendered.
It is necessary to select the RPCs to modify each time that the RPC RBG Level is modified. When you are finished using the tool select Close to exit the roll-out dialog.
Note: Choosing all RPCs will also affect bitmap textures in the scene.
